Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms is closely monitoring the ongoing events in the Gaza Strip with deep regret due to the continued Israeli escalation against the people of the Strip, committing heinous crimes against the Palestinian people in full view and with explicit support from the Western-backed United States.
For 41 consecutive days, the Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out insane and destructive bombardment operations targeting civilian areas in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of 11,470 people, including 4,707 children, 3,155 women, and 686 elderly individuals.
The Israeli occupation forces continue to impose a suffocating siege on the Strip, preventing access to water, medicine, fuel, and the basic necessities of life, leading to the deaths of dozens, if not hundreds, of Gaza's inhabitants. They are using starvation as a weapon in their arsenal.
The Israeli occupation escalated its destructive attacks on the health sector in Gaza, with clear American support, deliberately causing harm to as many civilians, wounded, and patients as possible, either through direct bombing or by preventing them from accessing necessary medical care. This military campaign has disabled the majority of hospitals in Gaza and made the remaining limited hospitals more difficult to operate due to the bombing, siege, fuel shortages, and the prevention of the entry of medicines, resulting in the deaths of critically ill civilians, including children.
The organization has been closely following with great concern the Israeli invasion, bombing, and brutal destruction of the Al-Shifa Medical Complex under flimsy pretexts and in violation of international law, committing systematic terrorism against a health facility in a crime that is difficult to describe in its horror.
The organization expresses its deep shock at the continuation of the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip for more than 40 days without any tangible measures to lift the blockade, stop the war, and save the children and civilians. The organization feels great disappointment in the decision issued by the Security Council, which decided to implement temporary humanitarian truces instead of imposing a ceasefire and prosecuting the war criminals among the leaders of the Israeli occupation. Despite the weakness of the resolution, the leaders of the occupation did not comply with it at all and completely disregarded it without any punishment.
The Israeli occupation continues to disregard international law, deliberately violating all human rights laws, and committing war crimes, genocide, and forced displacement against the people of Gaza without any deterrent.
The organization strongly condemns the criminal statements made by the leaders of the Israeli occupation, including the demand by the Israeli Minister of Heritage to bomb Gaza with nuclear bombs and the statement by the Minister of Finance about the necessity of displacing all the inhabitants of the Strip. These are dangerous statements that reveal the racist background of the leaders of this occupation.
The organization reiterates the danger of the collapse of the healthcare sector in Gaza, the disruption of communication and the internet, and the prevention of humanitarian organizations from providing assistance to those in need, warning of the consequences on the population of the Strip.
The organization urgently calls on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities and intervene swiftly to stop the aggression on Gaza, lift the blockade, and provide aid. It also emphasizes the need for international and UN bodies to play their role in this regard.
The organization further calls on the signatory states of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court to initiate the referral of the Israeli occupation state to the International Criminal Court promptly to investigate the horrific violations and atrocities committed against the people of Gaza and to pursue and hold accountable all those involved in war crimes against the Palestinian people, including the leaders of the occupation. The organization commends the initiative of South Africa, Bangladesh, Comoros, and Djibouti in taking this step and urges others to follow suit.
