Statement
Insan Organization for Rights and Freedoms expresses its grave concern regarding the alarming statements made by the leaders of the Israeli occupation state regarding a military operation targeting the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.
The potential military operation being threatened by Israeli leaders would be a humanitarian disaster unprecedented in contemporary history since World War II. Rafah serves as the last refuge for over one and a half million Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are women and children who sought shelter there following the Israeli military campaign.
This operation would significantly exacerbate the suffering of Gaza's population and result in thousands of casualties. It would also escalate regional and international tensions, involving additional countries such as Egypt and the entire region. The main reason for the Israeli occupation's persistence in its crimes and the continuous increase in its violations against the people of Palestine is the absence of international deterrence and accountability for those involved in these crimes.
Insan Organization calls upon the international community and the United Nations to take serious action to protect the people of Gaza, immediately halt the genocide they are subjected to, cease the Israeli aggression against them, lift the siege, and expedite the delivery of aid instead of resorting to further military operations that would have dire consequences.
