The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant today, Thursday, against the Israeli Prime Minister and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant over crimes committed in the Gaza Strip.
This decision marks a historic precedent in holding Israeli officials accountable for serious crimes and acts of genocide against the Palestinian people.
The Human Rights Organization "Insan" expressed its support for the ICC’s actions and called on all nations to respect its independence and integrity, urging them to avoid any attempts to undermine its work.
The organization also praised the decision, describing it as a beacon of hope for Palestinian victims who have suffered from military assaults and Israeli aggression. These attacks have consistently led to the loss of thousands of Palestinian lives and the daily destruction of Gaza’s infrastructure for more than a year.
Insan affirmed that such decisions strengthen the principle of "criminal accountability" and highlight that Israeli political and military leaders cannot escape justice under international law.
The decision reflects the ICC’s commitment to protecting human rights and combating impunity. It also serves as a source of hope for victims worldwide, signaling that justice can be achieved, even against powerful entities.
Furthermore, Insan called on Western nations to comply with the arrest warrants issued against Netanyahu and Gallant.
