The Palestinian Journalists Protection Center (PJPS) condemned the killing of journalist Hussam Al-Titi, a correspondent for the American network ABC News, along with his wife and daughter, as a result of the bombing of their home in Gaza City. The center affirmed that this crime is part of a series of grave violations committed by the occupation against Palestinian journalists.
The center emphasized that targeting Palestinian journalists constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, which mandates the protection of journalists as civilians during armed conflicts.
According to the center's data, Israeli airstrikes since October 2023 have led to the killing of around 210 journalists and the injury of hundreds more, reflecting a systematic targeting of media workers in an attempt to silence voices reporting the truth.
In this context, the human rights organization "Insan" also condemned the horrific crime against journalist Hussam Al-Titi and his family, considering it part of a deliberate policy to target Palestinian journalists and a clear violation of international laws that guarantee the protection of journalists during conflicts.
The organization called for an urgent international investigation to hold those responsible for these crimes accountable and to ensure they do not escape punishment.
