Palestinian sources reported the martyrdom of journalist photographer Mohamed Abdel Aziz Khreis and his wife, as a result of an Israeli airstrike that targeted a displaced persons' tent in the Al-Suwariha area, west of the Al-Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza.
The Gaza government's media office had previously announced that the number of Palestinian journalist martyrs had risen to 188, after four journalists were martyred during the ongoing genocide campaign waged by Israeli forces since October 7, 2023. With the martyrdom of photographer Khreis, the total number of journalist martyrs has now reached 189.
The "Human Rights and Freedoms" organization strongly condemns the continued Israeli targeting and assassination of Palestinian journalists in Palestine, particularly in Gaza, and calls on the international community to pressure the Israeli entity to halt its ongoing crimes and the genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
