The "Insan for Rights and Freedoms" organization strongly condemns the brutal airstrike carried out by U.S. warplanes on residential neighborhoods in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a.
The targeting of a residential building in the densely populated Asr neighborhood on the evening of March 23, 2025—which resulted in more than 14 martyrs and injured individuals, according to preliminary figures—constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, the Geneva Conventions, and all international treaties and norms that prohibit the targeting of civilians.
These attacks, which claim civilian lives and destroy infrastructure, reflect a clear American disregard for civilian life in full view of the international community.
"Insan" stresses that targeting civilian objects is strictly prohibited under international and humanitarian law and that such crimes place their perpetrators under international criminal liability before competent courts, including the International Criminal Court.
The organization calls on the international community—including the UN Security Council and the United Nations—to take urgent action to stop this aggression and hold those responsible accountable. It emphasizes that international silence on these crimes amounts to complicity and only deepens the suffering of the Yemeni people.
The "Insan for Rights and Freedoms" organization reaffirms its solidarity with Yemeni civilians and their legitimate right to live in safety and demands accountability for all parties responsible for these crimes and human rights violations.
