Palestinian female detainees in Israeli prisons continue to endure harsh detention conditions that violate their most basic human rights, amid growing concerns over their physical and psychological well-being.
According to available information, Israeli authorities are holding three pregnant Palestinian women among a total of 93 female detainees in Damon Prison. They are reportedly subjected to difficult conditions, including medical neglect, inadequate nutrition, mistreatment, and degrading search procedures, all of which have had a negative impact on their health and physical safety.
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club has held Israeli authorities fully responsible for the fate of the female detainees, calling for their immediate release and the provision of necessary international protection. The organization also highlighted the continued denial of family visits and access by the International Committee of the Red Cross since October 2023.
The continuation of these violations against female detainees, particularly pregnant women, calls for urgent international action to ensure their protection and to put an end to practices that contravene international humanitarian law and human rights conventions.
