Insan for Rights and Freedoms values the active diplomatic efforts led by the Sultanate of Oman in recent days, as part of regional and international initiatives aimed at reviving the peace process in Yemen and alleviating the deepening suffering of the Yemeni people, who have been exhausted by years of war and blockade.
The organization affirms that the role played by the Sultanate of Oman represents a window of hope for Yemenis seeking stability and an end to the cycle of conflict, given the Sultanate’s impartial, balanced approach, and its commitment to bridging differences, supporting ceasefire initiatives, and opening humanitarian and economic paths to mitigate the impacts of the war.
The Yemeni people have paid a heavy price due to the blockade, military operations, and the deterioration of humanitarian conditions, and they are now in greater need than ever of a comprehensive peace that restores stability to society and enables the economy to recover.
Insan believes that any genuine step toward peace must place the dignity and fundamental rights of the Yemeni people at the top of its priorities.
The organization appreciates the ongoing efforts in Muscat, as well as the commitment of the United Nations and supporting countries—foremost among them the Sultanate of Oman—to push forward a path that leads to stopping the bloodshed, alleviating the suffering of millions of civilians, and creating an environment that enables Yemenis to regain their normal lives and their legitimate rights.
Insan calls on all local, regional, and international parties to seize this moment, prioritize the voice of wisdom over the language of arms, and work seriously and responsibly to end the war and establish a lasting peace worthy of the sacrifices and aspirations of the Yemeni people.
