The humanitarian crisis in southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip continues to worsen amid ongoing Israeli attacks and escalating military operations, as accusations grow against the Israeli occupation for failing to adhere to ceasefire agreements. This has further intensified the humanitarian catastrophe and led to a daily rise in the number of victims.
In Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Monday evening that the death toll from the Israeli aggression since March 2 has reached 2,869 killed and 8,730 injured, as airstrikes and attacks on southern areas continue, causing widespread destruction and increasing displacement among civilians.
In the Gaza Strip, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported that hospitals received 3 new fatalities and 16 injuries over the past 24 hours as a result of ongoing bombardment and attacks.
According to the ministry’s statistics, the number of victims since the ceasefire announced on October 11 has reached:
- Total fatalities: 854
- Total injuries: 2,453
- Total bodies recovered: 770
Meanwhile, the cumulative toll of the aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to:
- 72,740 killed
- 172,555 injured
These figures reflect the deepening humanitarian suffering endured by civilians amid continued Israeli bombardment, shortages of essential services and healthcare, and the unprecedented deterioration of living and humanitarian conditions.
The continued Israeli aggression against Lebanon and the Gaza Strip demonstrates a clear disregard for international laws and conventions, as well as a failure to uphold commitments related to ceasefire agreements and the protection of civilians. This threatens further escalation and contributes to destabilizing the entire region, amid repeated international warnings about the expanding humanitarian and security crisis.
